Tried my hand at making some ceramic tile coasters this month. The set on the left is made with pigments mixed into ArtResin, and the set on the right are acrylic paint pours, coated with ArtResin resin. Fun, but messy work! The tiles that were coloured resin, were easier to do, as they didn’t need a top coat, but dried to a lovely gloss, The acrylic pours need to be cleaned well to remove the silicon in the paint, then I had to coat each tile twice, and one tile three times. User error on my part, for sure! I used a roll of cork, cut with a rotary wheel on my Makin’s Professional® Cutting mat, then I glued the cork to the ceramic tiles with Gorilla Glue.
I think I know a few people who will be getting a set for Christmas!
